Green Light Communication is based on the brilliant work by Susan Gillis Chapman (The Five Keys to Mindful Communication) that turns every conversation into a living meditation which is peaceful, honest and genuine. Greg Heffron has been teaching alongside Chapman since 2009 and as Executive Director and Lead Teacher of GLC, has innovated a number of additions to her work, allowing regular people to immediately help heal deep wounds and fractures in relationships, families and communities — and further, to set the stage for warm and healthy communication in a world increasingly filled with aggression, avoidance and manipulation. ThriveWithCFS is a passion project for Greg Heffron — who has struggled with disabling chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) since 2007. Using his background in mindfulness and training within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Greg aims to provide the relief he himself has felt, allowing those with disabling CFS to function at a higher level, overcome isolation and bias, and find genuine joy in their lives again — without having to leave the comfort and privacy of their own homes. Click and sign up for a free trial of Module 1 of his CFS Energy Freedom Blueprint program — 30 life changing steps towards a new way to be with your illness. It will offer someone with CFS something positive to do any time of day or night. There’s truly nothing like it in the world.

Gregory Heffron

Greg is the Executive Director of both Green Light Communication and ThriveWithCFS.

Greg was the first teacher designated by his mentor Susan Gillis Chapman to teach her Green Light Communication material. He has developed and teaches GLC’s advanced certification and teacher training courses across three continents, and in countries with cultures as diverse as Ukraine, Canada, Austria, Chile, United States, Switzerland, Poland and Holland.

“For me, it has been humbling and inspiring teaching across cultures, feeling each person’s uniqueness alongside our shared humanity. Regardless of who we are, we all struggle with disconnection, and we all long to feel connected.“

Greg is a featured author in the forthcoming Mindful Communication: Speaking and Listening with Wisdom and Compassion, released in April 2023 by Routledge Press.

Greg begin mentoring those with chronic fatigue in the late 2000s, culminating in creating the ThriveWithCFS community.

He began as a Buddhist teacher in 2005 in the tradition of his teacher Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, and was designated as a teacher of the rare and extraordinary mind-body meditation discipline of Mudra Space Awareness in 2006. He is co-founder of Mudra Institute with his mudra mentor Craig Warren Smith.

In 2003, he graduated with an MFA in Nonfiction Writing from the well known University of Iowa writing program. Occasionally, when his CFS symptoms lighten, he still gets to write screenplays for film and TV, which is his passion.
