Five Keys (wk1) – 9 Qualities of Openness/The Green Light

Published by Greg Heffron on

  1. The power to open is inborn, not something we struggle to learn.
  2. Openness shows us a thread of goodness and sanity that’s like a magnetic force field connecting us.
  3. The Natural Communication SystemOpenness is possible because of a natural communication system that all human beings are born with. It consists of:
  • Awake Body, reconnecting to physical world
  • Tender Heart, tuning in to the felt, emotional energy that flows between us.
  • Open Mind, curiosity of awareness itself, forming ideas and letting them go.
  1. Openness is identical to the present moment: different words, the same experience.
  2. Openness is always available. When we feel out of touch with it, it is simply because we’ve become distracted.
  3. Openness is the original starting point of any conversation, before we construct opinions about ‘good, bad, friend, enemy’.
  4. Openness is ‘we-first’, rather than ‘me-first’. When our barriers are down, there is no territory to defend.
  5. Openness gives us the power to notice how relationships are like chemistry, changing who we think we are. Another way of saying this is that relationship is co-created by whatever our experience is in the present moment.
  6. Openness intuitively understands paradox. We are both alone and together. We can fall in love knowing that we can’t possess anyone or anything. We carry the memories of our life, yet in the present moment we can’t locate ourselves.
