Relational Meditation: Bringing Mindfulness to Everyday Connection (and Disconnection)
When we communicate, we experience a field of connection which is alive, constantly changing, and reveals how vulnerable we truly are. This vulnerability goes down to the core of our being, and is the source of great joy and great fear. It is also a great source of sensitivity and insight. By coming to understand the layers of communication, we can learn how to relax into this process and appreciate it — even when it is painful. This skill allows all communication to become guided by mindfulness, revealing a continuous stream of fresh truth about ourselves, others and our world. The truth of these moments then allow us to become more effective, kinder, more intuitive and more intelligent when handling challenging situations.
Based on the work presented in Acharya Susan Gillis Chapman’s The Five Keys to Mindful Communication, this workshop will present the basics of Chapman’s Mindful Communication to newcomers, as well as deepening the understanding of those familiar with the approach.
