The world today seems especially divided. Harsh speech and insults have become accepted at the highest levels of society. While we might look at the ‘outside world’ as the source of the divide, the most powerful place to begin to heal is within our own mind and heart — most especially within our own habits of communication. By unlocking our own fixed patterns of interaction, we can understand how the world falls into Us vs. Them, and how to help bring our world back together.
Based on The Five Keys to Mindful Communication, this popular five-day retreat allows us to rediscover our natural human connection with ourselves and others. By stepping carefully through “The Five Keys” we will focus on our innate capacity to understand and relate with others, even in chaotic situations. This leads us to be more flexible in our relationships, more honest, more compassionate — and more effective, especially when working to help the people in our lives, and the world at large. The program format includes talks, guided meditations, small group exercises, storytelling, mind-body practices and more.
Held at the magical mountain retreat of Shambhala Mountain Center. Note: the $190 tuition does NOT include 4 nights lodging. Register on Shambhala Mountain Center’s site and choose accommodation to see final full costs.
