The Five Keys To Mindful Communication
This weekend workshop identifies ‘open, closed and in-between’ patterns in our conversations and our relationships. The format includes mindfulness meditation, brief talks, mudra space awareness exercises, and dialogue groups. The program introduces the themes of The Five Keys To Mindful Communication by Susan Gillis Chapman..

Relational Meditation: Building Networks of Support
This program focuses on dialogues which encourage vulnerability and allow ourselves and others to relax back into our natural state of genuineness, confidence and clarity. In this way, we can create a “social safety net” with our conversations, creating more resilience and harmony in our friendships, families, workplaces and communities.
The Power of Peacemaking: Transmuting Aggression in a Challenging World
This program focuses on speaking truth in a way that we can be heard. The challenge is to discern the differences between what is true and the ‘toxic certainty’ of shut down patterns. Interrupting the Four Stages of Heartless Mind — complaint, divisiveness, blame and retaliation — we train in ‘disciplined patience’, abiding compassionately instead of acting out when we feel discomfort.
The Four Seasons of Mindful Relationship
The focus is on a We-First/We-Together approach to relationship. Together, we explore the difference between being ‘Alone-Together’ and the mindless habits of using other people as a way of running away from ourselves. Though a series of experiential exercises and meditations, we will work to interrupt the Four Stages of Mindless Heart: craving, disconnection, objectification and dependent strategies.
The Stories of Our Lives: Unfreezing the Spiritual Autobiography
Sometimes we look back at our life experience with a mix of regret, angst and dissatisfaction, wondering why painful things happened, or why better things didn’t happen. In this retreat, we’ll look at our life with a renewed sense of curiosity, working with different models to “unfreeze” our descriptions of our lives, and discover the “hidden gold” buried in the challenging and powerful experiences that made us who we are in this very moment.
